Pennsylvania's
Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) is a State Agency that helps
persons with disabilities help themselves to prepare for, start, and maintain
a career. Pennsylvania is served by 15 District Offices of Vocational
Rehabilitation and a Central Office which administers and oversees vocational
rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities.
Services through OVR are available to eligible students and adults with disabilities and are arranged on an individually determined basis as outlined in the Individual Employment Plan (previously called the Individual Written Rehabilitation Plan). Not everyone will need every service offered through OVR. OVR services include: diagnostic services, vocational evaluation, counseling, restoration services, training, and placement.
Each district office serves a multiple county region and has professional vocational rehabilitation counselors and a Transportation Services Coordinator who specializes in transportation services, driver evaluation, vehicle modification, and other information to support eligible OVR participants to gain employment.
