Barrier Free Vacations provides free travel reservation services for individuals with physical disabilities. Their mission is to assist ALL individuals with a quality vacation experience. It is owned and operated by individuals with disabilities who have experienced the highs and lows of traveling with a mobility impairment. Their extensive research has identified barrier-free destinations in Florida and on cruise ships in the Caribbean. Florida locations include Walt Disney World, Daytona Beach, Clearwater/St. Pete Beaches, Ft Lauderdale/Miami Beaches, and Key West. All hotels have roll-in showers.

Travelin' Talk is an international network of people providing assistance to travelers with disabilities by sharing their knowledge and/or extending services which travelers may need while visiting or planning their trips. The network supplies information about local lodging, medical services, accessible restaurants, churches, etc. to people with disabilities who visit their cities. The network currently operates in 400 cities in the USA, as well as in many foreign countries. There is no cost for assistance other than the long distance call. A Travelin' Talk Directory is also available which lists all members and resources. Cost for the guide is $35.

Recreation Unlimited is a year round camp program serving individuals with disabilities ages 5 and above. Recreation Unlimited offers a variety of camping sessions from day programs to respite care to resident camping. The facility has a 160 acre campus (designed to comply with ADA standards), three major housing cabins, a multi-purpose lodge, an arts and crafts building, dining hall, swimming and diving pools, an athletic track, a tennis court, regulation softball field, equestrian outdoor arena, medical clinic, administrative building and related support facilities. The camp includes nature trails with observation points, hard-surfaced trails, a six-acre lake, prairie, forest, stream, and natural amphitheater.

BLINDNESS
The Library of Congress, National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped
provides recorded and braille reading materials to persons with documented visual or physical
disabilities or dyslexia which prevent the use of printed materials. Individuals must call the
reference section in order to receive an application for services. After receiving documentation,
the library forwards a cassette player and a resource listing of materials. The library refers
individuals to the regional library located in each state.

Freedom's Wings provides an opportunity for those who are physically challenged to fly in
specially adapted sailplanes, either as a passenger or as a member of the flight training program.
The organization also provides training for instructors, ground crew, and flying students. There
is no charge for an introductory flight; 25 for subsequent flights or flights for able-bodied

Whitetail Ski Resort, located near Mercersburg, PA, offers adaptive ski lessons for children and
adults with disabilities. Lessons can be scheduled for any time, but Monday-Friday, day or
evening, is preferred because it avoids the crowded weekend slopes. A three-hour private lesson,
including lift ticket and equipment, costs $40. You must make arrangements in advance so that
the appropriate equipment, instructor, and volunteers are available. Mono and bi-skis and other
equipment is on hand to accommodate all disabilities. Daycare is available.

THE ACCESSIBLE GUIDE FOR SPECIALIZED GROUND TRANSPORTATION
The Accessible Guide for Specialized Ground Transportation provides a resource for locating specialized ground transportation to airports, hotels, restaurants,
business meetings, and conventions. The guide is arranged alphabetically by state and then city.
Each entry includes contact information, type of service provided, days and hours of operation,
base fare, lift equipment, reservation policies, and related information. It can be ordered at the

TRAVELERS' RIGHTS
The Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association offers publications and a website which addresses the
rights of individuals with disabilities in air travel under the Air Carrier Access Act as well as in
Ground Transportation under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The publications
